Welcome Message From Our Conference Chair
On behalf of the Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association (AHPBA), I invite you to participate in our 12th Annual Congress held at the historic Eden Roc Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida, from March 7-11, 2012. You may be familiar already with the super professional, educational, and social opportunities this event affords. If you have never attended, you will be pleased and invigorated by this high-quality gathering of your peers.
The Program Committee has crafted our most ambitious agenda yet - reflecting the increasing growth and maturity of our organization. Membership has nearly doubled over the last four years, approaching 1000 HPB practitioners. This year's program theme is "Impacting Your HPB Practice" and focuses on mechanisms that influence optimal care to our patients on a daily basis. Program highlights include:
- Ultrasound Postgraduate course
- Allied Health practitioner symposium
- Fellows and Resident symposium
- Mini-Consensus Conference
- Interactive presentations such as "Clinical Toolbox" and "The Cutting Edge."
This meeting prospectus presents our preliminary schedule of programming. Please review the symposia, lectures, debates, and scientific presentations in the program to find the topics of particular interest to you. We also have an excellent Trade Show of products and services of specific application to our specialty. Opportunities abound for sponsorship, educational support, or focused Non-CME symposia with suppliers.
The Eden Roc has been our "home base" for more than a decade now, and Miami provides a great late-winter getaway. We have golf and fishing tournaments as part of the meeting, and you will also have time to sample the lively nightlife and exquisite cuisine Miami has to offer. We will be thrilled to have you as our guest as we continue to collaborate for the ultimate benefit of our patients.
